In September 2024, Petzl America recalled the Petzl GYM, PANDION and PANJI climbing harnesses, a serious sports recall reported by the CPSC. Affected owners are eligible for a repair. Here is what the hazard is and exactly what to do about it.

What this means for you
The recalled harness can be put on backwards and the rope or carabiner can be attached to a non-weight-bearing leg loop elastic band, placing the user at risk of falling from height and sustaining serious injury, including paraplegia or death.
